Russian, Ukraine and the USA ... what is going on?

Does anyone still believe anything President Obama says? Are his words not mere empty threats? With the USA promoting the homosexual lifestyle and basically spitting in God's face, the USA appears to be in a downward spiral to destruction. (Washington, D.C.) -- "Delivering a blunt warning to Moscow, President Barack Obama expressed deep concern Friday over reported military activity inside Ukraine by Russia and warned 'there will be costs' for any intervention," reports the Associated Press. "He did not say what those costs might be."

"Obama called on Russia to respect the independence and territory of Ukraine and not try to take advantage of its neighbor, which is undergoing political upheaval," AP noted.

"Any violation of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity would be deeply destabilizing," Obama said in a statement delivered from the White House. Such action by Russia would not serve the interests of the Ukrainian people, Russia or Europe, Obama said, and would represent a "profound interference" in matters he said must be decided by the Ukrainian people.

"Just days after the world came to Russia for the Olympic Games, that would invite the condemnation of nations around the world," Obama said. "The United States will stand with the international community in affirming that there will be costs for any military intervention in Ukraine."

"Obama aiming for 'unilateral disarmament'" 02/27/14
There is no doubt that this is where Obama is heading, and it is obvious with what he is doing with the destruction of the US military.
If this is what the American people want through electing the Sequester-in-Chief, then so be it.
What this is doing is creating a vacuum that China, Russia and Iran are now filling.

There is no doubt that Obama is God's man to destroy America. Because of America's national sins of abortion and homosexuality, God accelerating the process of removing the nation from being a world power.
Obama is so weak, will this invite China, Russia and Iran to attack us? Obama wants to disarm us of nuclear weapons, so I think if we are attacked, he lacks the courage to defend the nation.

His mind is so full of darkness and hatred for America that he would problem think that it is our fault or we deserve the attack.

Obama's mind is totally given over to darkness, as seen in the fervor he has to kill babies, promote homosexuality and divide Jerusalem.

Can it be any clearer that America is under judgment. and the Holy God of Israel is removing America as a world power!

Falling Away of Christians, article from Jan Markel

The Bible teaches that in the last days there will be a falling away. That is that people will walk away from the Christian faith. This is very sad but it seems to be happening in our very day. When we look at what is happening with the Christian church regarding the homosexual issues, we see many a Christian and many a church turn away from the truth of the Bible choosing rather to follow satan and his homosexual movement. The Bible clearly states that homosexuality is sin, and an abomination in the sight of God. God invites the homosexual to turn away from the lifestyle of homosexuality.  Repent of it and in faith receive the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin. 
The Bible also teaches that in the last days people will be delusioned, unable to believe the truth of the Bible. I want to post an article by Jan Markel ( see article below ) that is worth your time to read but first please take the time to read this portion of Scripture from 2 Thessalonions 2.

If the strong delusion that is racing across the globe doesn't shock you, something is wrong! Whether it was the ecstasy on thousands of faces in St. Peter's Square waiting with adoring eyes for their new Pope, or the shenanigans in Israel a few weeks ago, it's a scary time. It's both a privilege and a challenge to be born for such a time as this.

The Bible speaks extensively about delusion! It is on overdrive in the last days. And you saw deluded college students in Tel Aviv, Israel on March 21. When Barack Obama suggested that they had to give away more land, the Leftist students applauded for a full minute. Though the land give-away has never worked, I guess this time, they thought that Obama delivering the idea in person in Tel Aviv was the magic trick needed! This time world, just watch, it's a go!

Keep in mind that rockets were raining down on Israel as Obama spoke! Yet, this idea, that is, weakening their own security, was still a good idea to them.

"For I will stretch out My hand against the inhabitants of the land," declares the Lord. "For from the least of them even to the greatest of them, everyone is greedy for gain, and from the prophet even to the priest, everyone deals falsely.  They have healed the brokenness of My people superficially, Saying, 'Peace, peace,' But there is no peace." (Jeremiah 6:12-14)

An American president screamed, "Peace! Peace! Give up more land for it! The hour is at hand. I have the magical formula. Hear me out. This time, I guarantee, it will work."

Could you imagine with me the Antichrist speaking to Israelis as he will some day, just like this. He will offer Israel a peace covenant in a manner similar to this. Was the March 21 speech a dress rehearsal? A dry run? I am not suggesting that Barack Obama is the Antichrist as we don't know who it will be. But a man talking about peace journeyed to a land occupied by people who long for it, although they haven't a clue how to bring it about other than land exchanges.

   

Keep in mind that in the Palestinian territories, there are streets, public squares, summer camps, high schools, and even a kindergarten named after suicide bombers and other mass murderers. So much for the notion that if only Israelis would care about Arab kids, peace would be possible.

  

Israelis have wanted nothing more than peace and security for all the children. That's why they accepted the 1947 U.N. partition of British Palestine into a Jewish and Arab state. Unfortunately, the Arabs said no. To this day, the Palestinians have rejected every peace offer that leaves a Jewish state standing.

Since we're smack-dab in the midst of these incredible last days, how many e-mails does this ministry get wailing that churches will no longer address the subject? Well, legions of e-mails and even calls.

Back to my strong delusion commentary. The Bible foretells through Paul to the Thessalonian believers that in the last days, a time in church history would come when God would send "strong delusion." In like manner, Paul even warned Timothy that in the last days, there would be a group of demons who would infiltrate the churches with false and mixed doctrine, capable of even causing some to, "depart from the faith" and give heed to devilish false teachings.

God instigates this. It's not just the increase of evil that brings this on. Yes, Satan ratchets up his evil in the last days, but God sends the delusion. I think He gets mighty disgusted and just sends the delusion as a judgment! He washes His hands and turns His back.  

You don't want to be on the back side of God as He does this. Those Israeli students were on the back side of God and they were blinded.

  

Our times are way too perilous to be this unprotected.  

  

So, we've had a foreshadowing of the blind and strong delusion that will play out unchecked during the Tribulation.We're having lots of dress rehearsals these days. Most of them are around dark events. That's why the Bible reminds us to stay yoked to one another and to God at the end of the end.  

There are even murkier waters ahead. Look up and not around!

President Obama Inauguration January 21,2013

Micah 6:8  He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Today was an exciting day in US politics. President Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States - a busy day for the President and his lovely family.

1 Timothy 2: 1-3 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;


In his speech today, President Obama laid out some goals for his second term as President. Among other things, he mentioned three issues which I would like to comment on.
1) Gun control - I believe President Obama is on the right track with gun control. With the gun violence that the USA has experienced in recent years, the President must do whatever he can to stop these massive killings of innocent people. For the President to not take action regarding this matter at this time would be morally wrong. I believe it is the President's responsibility to act on this issue and for the general public to support his efforts in this matter. We are our "brother's keeper".
Genesis 4: 8-11
And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
  And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?
  And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.
 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand.

2) Gay rights - Here I firmly disagree with President Obama. It is 100% clear in the Bible that homosexuality is a sin against God. It can not be compared to the skin color or male/female equality in society or the workplace since those are not sin issues. Homosexuality is a sin that requires repentance before God and for such individuals to turn to Jesus for forgiveness and salvation. I believe President Obama is seriously misguided on the issue of homosexuality. He needs prayer. If one swears on the Bible, should he not also live by the words written in it?
Romans 1: 22-32
 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
1 Corinthians 6: 9-10   Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,  nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

3) Climate change -  I believe that everyone one of us should do what is reasonable to take care of this beautiful earth that God has given to us. It is sad to see the pollution, the immense amount of food that is wasted etc. Also the chemicals and fertilizers that are used to produce our food can not possibly be healthy for any of us. I believe God is in control of this planet and though we should do what we can for the good of it, it cannot be our main priority. To me the "green" issue is not a matter that is worth getting really upset about. Our focus needs to be on winning lost souls to the Lord Jesus for salvation. This world is not our home - we are just a passing through!!

 

Some additional comments: In my discussion on point #2 on gay rights, I mentioned male/female equality. I would like to expand on this just a bit. While in God's eyes, male and female are equals this does not mean that they are interchangeable. Family is God's idea, as is marriage. One man and one woman united before God for life, till death do part. God has created the males and gifted them with fatherhood, while the female has been given the gift of bearing children and motherhood. So two homosexual men together raising children is wickedness in the sight of our God. As is two lesbian women raising a family. God's ways are best. Sometimes circumstances of life are hard and we see Grandparents, or other loving family raising a child in need, this is pleasing to the Lord.

As we see in Titus chapter 2, the ideal place for a woman with children is to be a stay at home Mom and raise the children up for the Lord. Please take time to read these verses from Titus 2:

 

 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

 

May God guide President Obama to make right choices - choices that honor the Lord! May I encourage everyone to pray for the leaders of your country!

 

Obama Wins - What now??

Hebrews 10:30-31 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Many Christians are scratching their heads this morning wondering why or how God could allow Obama to be re-elected. I for one was hoping that Mitt Romney would be given the chance to turn America around, get people back to work and to slow down the progression of evil across the country. Some may be wondering what God has in store for America or if the US has already crossed the line and that God's judgment has already begun. Is the re-election of President Obama a clear picture of the moral state of the Christian chrurch in America? Do the majority of Christians not stand for the truth of the Bible any longer? The Bible clearly condemns homosexuality and abortion which are two areas in which President Obama opposes the Bible.
Is it possible that God is giving President Obama a second chance for very good reasons? As Christians we know that our heavenly Father is the God of second chances. We see this played out in the Bible in the story of Jonah, the disciple Peter and many others. When we have seriously messed up, many times God will give us another chance in order to repent and so avoid the judgment that otherwise would be our lot. So also it appears that God has given President Obama another chance to repent of his evil ways and to repent and undo the evil that he has put in place. If President Obama will do right in his second term, perhaps the country could still be spared. Perhaps Obama will come to see the evil of homosexual living and begin to work against gay marriage. Perhaps Obama will come to see that abortion is the murder of the innocent and in repentance he will have the chance to bring hope and protect the life of the innocent unborn. If President Obama continues on the path of promoting moral decay and decline across the country, it will be very painful to watch. Hold on to the Lord Jesus and trust Him with all that the future brings.
What to do? -  Choose to live for Christ in your own personal life regardless of what is popular in the country. And the other one thing that is very important is to pray, pray pray!!!

Why I would Vote for Romney...

Psalm 75: 6-7 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.  But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

Someone has said that a definition of insanity is to keep repeating the same actions but expect to get different results. That statement could be applied to the current administration of the United States. How can anyone imagine that borrowing billions of dollars continually with no intentions of repaying that debt could lead to any good result??
As a Canadian I am watching the USA Presidential Elections campaign going on. I understand that my opinion about it has no bearing at all in the election itself but that doesn't mean that I cannot be interested. I watched the debate a couple nights ago. Mitt Romney definitely won that debate - no doubt about it! But who will the American people choose as their next President in November of this year?



Here in Canada we currently have a Conservative majority government with Stephen Harper as Prime Minister. I like that - it is good for our country. I support the Conservative Party in elections whenever I can.
I have heard American Christian preachers say that they cannot vote for Mitt Romney because he is a Mormon. In my opinion, in an election for President you are not choosing a God whom you will serve - You are choosing a President who is capable of leading the country.  Obama has proved his capabilities in the last four years. So the question is not who believes exactly as I do? or is the person running a Christian?  Of course we would prefer to have a Christian to be our Prime Minister or President but there are only two choices. So the question rather becomes - Who is the one that shares my moral values and lives with integrity and will move the country in the right direction? I think it is extremely concerning when a person claims to be a Christian but then denies Christ in his political decisions. If one does not claim to be a Christian at all, you must look at his backgound - Does he live with integrity and does he have good moral standards? Will he be able to guide the economy and stop the wasteful spending?
In the Canadian election process, you must vote for a candidate who represents one of the three main Parties( Conservative, Liberal or New Democratic Party)  and thereby the vote you cast is a vote for your local representative and also for the Party and Leader of that Party. So in the last election here in Canada, I voted for Vic Toews who represents the Conservative party in my region and so by voting for the Conservative candidate my vote also helped to elect Stephen Harper as Prime Minister. Personally I do not agree with Vic Toews because I am offended that he lived an immoral life and divorced his wife of many years. That being said I still voted for him because I knew Stephen Harper was the man who needed to be Prime Minister. He is a strong family man, he guides the economy well and is a friend to Israel and he is not afraid to stand his ground even if it is not politically popular.
In the same way, Mitt Romney may not be the perfect man in some ways but he most certainly has the country's best interests in his platform. He has experience in economic issues, he understands the risks of the government's spending problem, he is smart, also a good family man who sincerely loves his wife and family, he is a strong supporter of Israel and also not afraid to stand strong even against Obama ( as we saw in the debate).  Whereas it seems that Obama is bent on destroying the USA. I would fear for the people of the US if Obama got another 4 years as President. He seems weak and cowardly, he doesn't hesitate to increase the deficit, he does not stand strong with Israel, he is promoting Muslim Brotherhood takeovers, but he also loves his family though at the same time is trying to destroy the traditional family. He strongly promotes homosexuality and abortion. He says he is a Christian but does not stand for Christian values. I would rather vote for someone who says he is a Mormon and is honest about it as Romney is than for someone who says one thing but lives another.  There are only two choices - and the Obama choice is really not an option.
In my opinion, of course you also must look at their running mates. Paul Ryan's values and morals are far more in line with Biblical principles than Joe Biden's. If something were to happen to the President, would Biden be able to provide leadership required in a crisis or would Paul Ryan be more equipped to do so?

We must always remember that the final out come rests with God. God will put the man in office who will fulfill His preordained prophetic plan. God's timetable will not change and if the endtime prophecies and tribulation are about to begin, then God will put the man in the Whitehouse whom He has chosen to be in there for that appointed time. Trust in the Lord because He will  never fail you.
Psalm 146: 3-5 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God:

Declaration of Faith!!

Don't you just long for the time when President Obama or Prime Minister Stephen Harper would make a declaration that said this - It would be the top story on CBC, ABC and CBS for sure:

I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end. He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
The above decree of course comes from the Book of Daniel in chapter 6. Daniel 6 was a part of my morning devotions this morning and I just began to long for the day when my Canadian Prime Minister Harper or the USA President Obama would get a real glimpse of who God is and they would be willing to take this kind of a stand for the One and Only true living God. So many times we see our leaders embracing all religions. You see this being played out when a national tragedy happens, an interfaith ( all religions included) service is held. It is sad because people are trusting empty religions that can never help them at all. If only the LORD God had His rightful place and the true gospel of Christ - that is salvation through Jesus Christ alone, were proclaimed, then real comfort and hope could be seen in trying and difficult times.
In Matthew 11:28-29 Jesus says Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
and in Luke 4:18 Jesus says The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
So we see that the One who truly cares and can comfort and heal broken hearts is Jesus. None of the other religions that are out there are of any help at all ( not Islam, not Hinduism, not Mormonism, not Budhism, or paganism etc) . Come to Jesus today - Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you 1Peter 5:7
Prayer: Heavenly Father I pray that You would give special insight into the hearts of Prime Minister Harper and President Obama that both of them would come to know that You alone are Only One true God, the LORD God Almightly, creator of Heaven and Earth. I ask that You would arrange circumstances and provide a national opportunity for them to stand boldly for You and declare to all the peoples and nations of the world that You alone are God - in You alone is salvation.To You Father God be all glory and power now and forever, In Jesus precious Name, Amen

Romney for President - Updated!

Updated August 2, 2012 - My blog poll is closed now. According to my poll, Mitt Romney should win and become President in November! My personal opinion though is that President Obama will get re-elected. I was hoping that I would get more participation in this "just for fun" poll. I says thanks to those of you who did vote.  Some people are suggesting that the election will be cancelled due to the circumstances that are developing in the USA and around the world. We know that God controls the outcome of  elections and He allows those to get into office whom He will use to fulfill the He preordained prophetic Word. We will see what happens. For a couple of weeks now I've had a poll on my blog asking the question-  Who should be elected President in the USA come November? Should Prseident Obama be given a second term or is it time for the Republicans to get into office with a President Romney in the Whitehouse. There is only 1 day left to vote in my poll, so anyone out there - it doesn't matter what country you call home, you are encouraged to vote. I am interested to see what people everywhere are thinking. Some people are even suggesting that the fall election could be called off. What do you think? President Obama holds the highest office of any world leader. The entire world looks to the USA for guidance and direction.

I am a Canadian living in Canada. It is troubling to see how much the USA is changing under President Obama. Also troubling to watch are the disasters that are bombarding the country - storms, heat, fires and financial woes to name a few. I believe God is warning all of us, no matter what country we live in, to turn to Him in repentance and faith as the days are getting ever closer to the return of the Lord Jesus.

Though I am a Canadian, I follow US politics, news, and a few blogs by some American preachers who have special insights into the world today in relation to Bible prophecy being fulfilled these very day. We are witnessing Bible prophecy come to pass before our eyes.  I find the writings of Joel Rosenberg and John McTernan worth reading. Below you will find a few paragraphs from both of their blogs and a link to each of their blogs.

The effects of the massive storm that now is being called an inland hurricane is still being felt. I can never really remember a storm like this. This is the type of disasters that I have been warning about that are on the way to America. They will hit with a greater frequency and intensity. The destruction will match the exact level of rebellion against the LORD. The destruction will continue until America is broken. The LORD is holy and He cannot allow America to continue in this rebellion.

Once again I want to bring to your attention that the fate of America is in the hands of the church. Without repentance and crying out to the Lord for an outpouring of His Holy Spirit, America is going to be destroyed, God has sent all the warning signs of the impending doom, but the church still sleeps on. Please come to my Friday night blog talk church service, as during the service we do cry out to the LORD for mercy and an out pouring of His Spirit.

People have been contacting me about what supplies to store. I tend not to give details because everyone is in a different situation. You need a food supply, but store more than you need so you can help others. You need a water filter system so that if there is no water, you can always purify some. I recommend a small generator with some stored gas. I also highly recommend a weapon for self defense.

I am also requesting that any pastors who might be reading this to warn your church of what is coming and use the church to help with supplies. There are many people who cannot afford supplies and are helpless. The churches are to now move in the fear of God just like Noah did when he built the ark for safety. The Lord warned him of what was coming and Noah moved by fear took action. There are rnow millions without power from Indiana to Washington, DC. If the heat continues, this could get very serious for those without water and supplies.

Sure enough, the Lord heard the earnest prayers of the people — and their king — as they repented, and He relented. “When God saw their deeds, that they turned from their wicked way, then God relented concerning the calamity which He had declared He would bring upon them. And He did not do it.” The promised judgment did not come. The people and their city were spared from God’s wrath. What an extraordinary moment. The pagan people heard the word of the Lord and it burned in their hearts. They believed God’s word, pleaded for mercy, and the Lord gave them mercy, even though He had never indicated that He would do so.
But this was not the only time the word of the Lord came to the people of Ninevah.
About 100 years or so later, the next generation of Ninevites had abandoned the Lord and fallen back into tremendous evil, violence, bloodshed, lies, sorcery and other wickedness. In the Old Testament book of Nahum, we read that the Lord again spoke to the people of Ninevah, this time through a different Hebrew prophet, this one named Nahum. Yet this time the people of Ninevah did not repent. They did not listen to God’s word. They did not plead for mercy. They did not turn from their wicked ways and start praying, fasting and begging God for mercy. And thus, mercy did not come. Instead, the judgment of God came upon the people, and in 612 B.C. the city of Ninevah was utterly destroyed.
Today we as Americans — especially those here in the capital, but all of us really — must confront this question: Is America in a “Jonah” moment, or a “Nahum” moment? That is, will we hear the word of the Lord that we have strayed far from the teachings of the Bible and allowed our land to become polluted with abortions and pornography and violence and wickedness of all kinds? Will we admit how far we are from God’s plan and purpose for our lives? Will we confess that our hearts are far from Jesus Christ and plead with the Lord for His mercy and grace and forgiveness? Will we fast and pray and earnestly seek God’s face, and implore Christ to give us a Third Great Awakening? I believe both of these authors are warning all of us regardless of which country we live in - The warings from the Lord are evident - warnings to repent and turn to God for forgiveness before it is too late and  the judgement of God falls on our countries.

Obama takes a stand against God's View on Marriage...

This week President Obama made history when he went on national televison and said that believes in same sex marriage. I am a Canadian so normally I would not comment on  American politics or on President Obama but this is a matter of faith. It appears that President Obama has taken a direct stand against God and the Bible.
It is God who created the whole world and everyone in it and it is God who has the authority to say what is classified as right living and what is sin. Marriage is God's plan and it involves only 1 man and 1 woman bound together till death parts the union. Genesis 2:24 - ²⁴ Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

In the past hundred years or more, God has raised up many evangelists and preachers from the United States and has sent them out into the entire world to preach the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ. We can think of even preachers of our day such as Billy Graham, David Jeremiah, Franklin Graham, James McDonald, John Piper, John McArthur, Vernon McGee, John McTernnan, Woodrow Kroll and others who faithfully teach the Bible and many have come to know Jesus through their ministries. So we can see that the United States of America plays a big role in God's preordained plan for the world to give everyone a chance to be saved. But now it seems that America is turning away from God and is no longer willing to lead the world as a Christian country that other countries and leaders can look to for direction and support. It is my hope that many true Christian leaders will now take a firm stand against homosexuality. It is disturbing to see what is happening to the United States going down this path away from the clear teachings of the Bible. One might say that Obama only speaks for himself so it doesn't matter but this is not the case. While doing his interview on ABC news, President Obama said that he and Michelle his wife are practicing Christians. If one is a practicing Christian, then a person will look to the Bible for direction and seek to do what the Bible says even if it is the unpopular stand to take. Christians seek to please Christ and obey the written Word of God. Instead of taking a stand for the Bible and righteousness so that other Christians also can stand stronger together, Obama causes division within the body of Christ by opposing the Bible's stand on homosexuality. It is a dangerous thing to oppose God and place one's own ideas above that of the Scriptures.
Romans 1:24-32 is somewhat a longer passage but I will post it since it is worth reading -

²⁴ Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
²⁵ Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
²⁶ For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
²⁷ And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
²⁸ And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
²⁹ Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
³⁰ Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
³¹ Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
³² Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

I find it odd that President Obama would come to his evolving conclusions on gay marriage by looking at his daughters and their friends. He says his daughters would find it unthinkable that somehow their friends gay parents were different. Well, if Obama is a Christian as he says he is, then the right thing to do would be to teach his daughters what the Bible says about homosexuality and tell them that since God says homosexuality is sin - it is SIN, regardless if others are doing it, homosexuality is sin and will bring the judgment of God on those who do it and those who support those who do it UNLESS they come in repentance to God and find forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 6:9
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,

May God have mercy on us especially on those of us who love Him and look for His appearing.

My Mom - Woman of Faith!

Recently in the news Ann Romney ( the wife of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney) was  criticized for having made the choice to be a stay- at - home mom to raise their family. She was criticized to have never worked a day in her life. Wow! I am glad that many many people came to her defense including Michelle Obama and the President himself. Raising children is not an easy task - it takes very much love, and patience, and the giving up of one's own desires for the good of the family.
So with that I want to turn my thoughts over to my own Mom who did this very thing - she has been a stay at home Mom and together with my Dad lovingly raised me and my 5 sisters.
Jeremiah 29:11 -

 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

The LORD has plans for each of us and now that my Mom is in her eighties we can look back and get a picture of some of what that was.
Before my Mom and Dad met, my Mom's parents decided to move from Manitoba to Paraguay along with many other Mennonite families. The Mennonites were seeking to find a place of peace where they would be able to raise their families.So in preparation for the journey to Paraguay( thinking never to return to Canada) my Mom, a young lady,  had to get rid of her possessions which included her "hope chest". A "hope chest" was dishes and things girls would start to collect as young teenagers which they would then hope to use once they would marry the man of their dreams. She recalls the agony of leaving it behind. Then my Mom, her parents and siblings along with a couple of thousand other Mennonites  boarded the ship to sail to Paraguay.  Sailing there took approximately a month and as she recalls she was sick most of the time sailing. As it turned out though, life was not as promising in Paraguay as they all had hoped and they headed back to Canada within six months and back in Canada my Mom met my Dad. God had it all planned.

My Mom was a very hard working person not only keeping the house, cooking with a wood stove in the early days, doing laundry with the old washing machine and no dryer, she was always helping Dad on the farm however she could. She was always by his side in a supporting role whether it was with farmwork - fixing the combine, running the baler, milking cows, but even more importantly she supported Dad in his work as a preacher. Always with him at his side whenever or however she was needed. As I think about my Mom, I remember the loving care she gave to me as a little girl. She would come to help me say my prayers each night. I would kneel in bed to pray and she would kneel  beside the bed as I prayed. Then she would tuck me in so I would get a good sleep.  If at any time in the night I woke up, and couldn't sleep, I would call " MOM" and she would be right there. She would read a Bible story to me regardless of what time in the night it was, then she would tuck me in again and she would say -" I'll stay right here with you until you fall asleep" and she did too. It didn't matter if it took half an hour or an hour for her little girl to fall asleep, she stayed there by my bed to bring security and comfort.  She was selfless and loving through and through. This also showed up in her giving spirit to the neighbors. She is a truly generous and caring person.
My Mom's faith has grown strong over the years. She has been a great example to us to see her reading her Bible and other Scriptural literature. Being sure of  one's salvation and that we be ready to meet the LORD at any time is something that she stresses consistantly. Since Dad's passing, she has blossomed in showing her love for the LORD even more.
When my Dad became ill with cancer, she again stood strong with him going to appointment after appointment  with him and caring for him. The last six months of Dad's battle with cancer were spent in the hospital. Mom would go to the hospital in the morning and stay there with Dad the entire day, come home in the evening and the next day do it all over again. It seemed Dad had peace when he was so sick, just to know she was there with him and know she would be there with him the whole way through.

Heavenly Father, You have given me a wonderful Mother...Thank-you , Amen
